Project Overview:
PoolCompute, a decentralized GPU rental marketplace, is revolutionizing the way AI researchers, developers, and businesses access high-performance computing power. By offering a cost-effective and scalable solution, it enables users to rent GPUs on demand, bypassing the traditional limitations posed by centralized providers like AWS and Google Cloud.
My Role:
As the Solo Product Designer, I was responsible for the end-to-end design process, ensuring a user-friendly, scalable, and visually engaging experience for a diverse audience of tech professionals.
Challenges Addressed:
- High Costs: Tackled the issue of expensive GPU rentals by offering a more competitive pricing structure.
- Limited Access to GPUs: Introduced a decentralized approach to provide users with access to a wider variety of GPUs.
- User Experience: Designed a seamless interface that simplifies navigation through complex features.
- Scalability: Ensured the platform could handle growing user demand while maintaining a smooth, reliable experience.
Research and Competitive Analysis:
Through surveys, interviews, and market analysis, we identified significant gaps in the offerings of current GPU rental services. PoolCompute's decentralized model and competitive rates set it apart from competitors like AWS and Google Cloud.
Design Solution:
- User-Friendly Interface: Developed a clean, intuitive web app design optimized for both desktop and mobile users.
- Robust Filtering System: Implemented advanced filters and search functionalities to allow users to quickly find the GPU resources they need.
- Scalable Design: Created a flexible system that scales with the user base, ensuring smooth performance as demand increases.
